Sheridan Zuther
Sheridan received her B.M. in Vocal Performance-Opera from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. While in graduate studies at UMKC she discovered other outlets of musical entertainment that inspired her to sing a range of genres from country to jazz. She enjoyed performing with variety bands in North Dakota, Kansas City, and the Twin Cities while starring in musical theatre productions at the Ordway, the Guthrie, Park Square Theater, Minneapolis Musical Theater, Bloomington Civic Theater, and productions with the MN Orchestra, as well as producing and musical directing her own shows. Sheridan has performed at Carnegie Hall, was a soloist for Minneapolis Musical Theater’s Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens for the MN AIDS Project at the Pantages Theatre, and guest soloist with the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir.
As an alumna of the Cabaret Conference at Yale University, she is one of the founding Members of Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network, promoting public awareness and advancement of cabaret performance in the Twin Cities community.
Sheridan Zuther toured the U.S. and Canada 2005-2011 with nationally-acclaimed vocal quintet Five By Design, performing unforgettable melodies, lush harmonies, and swingin’ rhythms with symphony orchestras and big bands in conjunction with teaching vocal clinics and master classes in high schools and universities. Since 2009 she has taught summer sessions in vocal jazz and musical theatre at International Music Camp at the Peace Gardens on the North Dakota/Manitoba border, giving back to a wonderful art institution which she attended for 4 summers studying saxophone, drama, and creative writing while growing up on the plains of ND.
