Joey Babay

Joey comes to TCCAN with his history of musical theater on many local stages as well as touring Regionally. He is recognized for his unique turns in character and supporting roles over many genres with assets as an actor/singer/dancer. These various talents gave him the title of the “understudy king” so he decided to hang up those pursuits because he would rather be on stage than waiting in the wings. Cabaret has given him the outlet to tell the stories that have been itching to get out and share some of the music that is dear to him. He has several solo shows in the works: Coming Out Swinging – looking at hipsters from the Golden Age of lounge acts to the current crop of troubadours; The Trunk Songs of Cy Coleman; Jimmy Webb, Tunesmith; and a compilation of character pieces called Songs for the Misfits & Forgotten. He also has performed as an alter-ego Roddy Kensington who is all things British pop and Boy Bands. In addition to cabaret, Joey employs a lot of his time in the 'marching and pageantry arts' as an adjudicator.
